Hello, and welcome to my very first blog post!
Let me start with a quick introduction.
I’m A-Pank, a Japanese home cook living in Japan. I’ve always loved cooking, and recently decided to start sharing my homemade dishes through this blog.
As a Japanese person, I often cook traditional Japanese meals. But here in Japan, Chinese, Italian, Korean, and Thai cuisines are also quite popular—so I enjoy making those dishes too.
Sometimes, it’s hard to find the exact ingredients for international recipes, so I often adapt them with a Japanese twist.
I’ll be posting at my own pace, and I’d be happy if you enjoy what I share.
For my first post, I chose two classic Japanese-style dishes: ramen and fried rice.
The ramen I made is instant—but it’s a type called tonkotsu ramen, which originates from the Kyushu region of Japan.
Tonkotsu ramen is typically made with a rich pork bone broth and thin noodles.
Common toppings include green onions, pickled red ginger, and wood ear mushrooms.
You can find this style of ramen not only in Kyushu, but also in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka.
If you ever visit Japan, I highly recommend trying it at least once!
